I thought it intresting that the Sheraton Canal Street Hotel and 2 other hotel properties not only have power back , but are gettin their kitchens online with 200 rooms online by next week. Yet city officials are telling us that for all intensive purposes the city on mass is and will be for weeks shutdown......Intresting juxtaposition dontcha think? This really gets my goat. Another example of private commercial intrests always seeming to move with more initiative and organization than its civil municipality counterparts. Where there is a will and a way there is a way.......

If you need to blame someone blame your government of 40 years ago. Hurricane Betsy came through and wowed the government and said we need to build up those levies up. President Johnson passed a bill to do just that but the lawyers, local environmentalists and powers at be said no and it never happened. Weather systems are going to come through the area every so often so be prepared. You know it's going to come but you get comfortable in everyday life. Money is also a huge factor. Passing a bill to build up a levy 40 years ago would have been nice. Today the American people have donated 578 million dollars. The government just gave New (or not so new now) Orleans 51 billion and more to come. If this is not a wake up call? Human kind will never ever learn. That is what you get for living in a chaos universe.

I sat in with a band in New Orleans a few years ago, I hope all of those guys are all right.

Rita has now has passed.......maybe now the rebuilding can begin. I just wanted to update everyone on my journey into New Orleans two weeks ago. All i can say is that in person the town looks like a ghostown , something like "Escape from New York" . Humvees and helicopters everywhere............these images will remain in my mind for years to come. We now look foward to the long, arduous task of rebuilding. I wonder what its gonna be like. Complete uncertainty is definetly the pervasive feeling in town........ we need to play some music and most importantly we need to laugh......so i thought id go against the grain and provide medication with some unique motivational words............http://s7.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=14...W22SRVOVBSKS7P
